Novel magnetic AgBr/NiFe2O4 composite with enhanced visible light photocatalytic performance

【文章摘要】 A magnetically separable AgBr/NiFe2O4 composite photocatalyst was synthesized for the first time by coupling a hydrothermal route with an ultrasound-assisted precipitation method. The photocatalytic activity of AgBr/NiFe2O4 photocatalyst was evaluated by the degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) under visible light irradiation. The as-synthesized AgBr/NiFe2O4 composite exhibited significantly higher photocatalytic performance than that of a single semiconductor. The remarkably enhanced photocatalytic performance of AgBr/NiFe2O4 composite was ascribed to the high specific surface area and efficient separation of electron hole pairs. The photodegradation of RhB was mainly achieved by superoxide radicals attack in AgBr/NiFe2O4 suspension. (C) 2016 Elsevier Ltd and Techna Group S.r.l. All rights reserved. |
